Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson will likely surpass Randy Moss in the NFL record books once again in 2023.

Justin Jefferson has only been with the Minnesota Vikings for three seasons, but he's already found himself in the same conversations as one of the franchise's legendary wide receivers, Randy Moss.

During his first year with the Vikings, Jefferson immediately etched his name above Moss' in the team's record books when he set the new franchise and NFL record for receiving yards in a single season by a rookie.

Heading into the 2023 campaign with Minnesota, Jefferson is on track to break another one of Moss' records at some point during the middle of the upcoming season.

Is Justin Jefferson already a Minnesota Vikings legend like Randy Moss?

On Friday, Jefferson turned 24-years-old, and to celebrate, the Vikings' official Twitter account shared a post that highlighted the receiver's excellence during his short tenure with the team.

That's right, Moss currently holds the NFL record for the most receiving yards by a player under the age of 25. In order to surpass this, Jefferson only needs to accumulate 571 receiving yards during the upcoming 2023 season.

Considering Jefferson has gained an average of more than 1,600 receiving yards in each of his three years in the league, this shouldn't be too difficult for him to accomplish.

Assuming he passes Moss in the record books again, has Jefferson already done enough to be considered a Vikings legend like "The Freak" is?

Typically, more than three years on the field is needed in order to determine whether or not a player should be regarded as a legend or not. But Jefferson has performed so exceptionally well already that he would likely forever be viewed as a Minnesota legend if he retired tomorrow.

Luckily, the young Vikings star wide receiver has no plans of walking away from the game any time soon. Instead, he's just going to continue to break records and do whatever he can to help deliver Minnesota their first-ever Super Bowl victory.
