On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings revealed a "classic" uniform that they will be wearing to open up the 2023 season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Following the recent report that they would be coming out with a new uniform for the upcoming NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings confirmed the speculation on Tuesday when they revealed a new uniform set that they're calling "The Classic".

If you're interested, they're available for order right now at Fanatics.

It's not necessarily a throwback uniform that is tied to any specific season from Minnesota's past. Instead, the Vikings shared in a news release that the uniforms were designed to feature a mixture of elements that honor all of their teams from the 1960s and 1970s.

Here's how Minnesota described their newest uniform set in the news release they shared on Tuesday.

"The Classic features a deeper purple hue, traditional lettering and numbering, gold trim accents and gold and white sleeve stripes. The new look also includes a helmet with the vintage Vikings horn and gray facemask and white pants featuring a gold stripe flanked by purple stripes, the style worn by the Vikings through the team’s first 45 seasons."

When will the Minnesota Vikings wear their new "classic" uniform during the 2023 NFL season?

In addition to the revealing of the actual uniform, the Vikings also announced that they will be sporting these new threads during their 2023 regular-season opener on Sunday, September 10th, when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers inside U.S. Bank Stadium.

Interestingly enough, the Bucs also recently announced that they will be wearing their iconic "creamsicle" uniforms for a game during the upcoming season. Unfortunately, that game is not their Week 1 matchup against Minnesota.

For the Vikings, this will be their first non-color rush alternate uniform since the Week 7 of the 2011 season, when they wore a throwback uniform in a 33-27 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
