Minnesota Vikings draft tracker for the 2023 NFL Draft
Day 1
Minnesota began their journey in the 2023 NFL Draft by using the No. 23 pick in the first round on former USC wide receiver Jordan Addison.
Addison is the first wide receiver drafted by the Vikings since 2020, when they selected some guy named Justin Jefferson (he's turned out to be pretty decent). Addison is also the first receiver from USC that has ever been drafted by Minnesota in the history of the franchise.
Day 2
Due to their trade with the Detroit Lions to acquire tight end T.J. Hockenson in the middle of last season, the Vikings currently do not have a second-round pick in this year's draft.
So they head into the second day of the draft with just a single a third-round selection, the 87th overall pick. It's possible that Minnesota could figure out a way to trade up, even all the way into the second-round, but for now, they only have one selection to work with on Day 2.
If you're wondering about some of the best remaining prospects on the board that the Vikings could draft, we've got you covered with some of the possibilities right here.
Update No. 1:
- Shortly before Minnesota was about to make their second pick of the 2023 draft with the 87th overall selection, they agreed to a trade with the San Francisco 49ers.
Update No. 2:
- Following the trade, Minnesota fans had to wait until the very last pick in the third round to see which prospect would be joining their favorite team next. The Vikings eventually went on the clock in the third round, and with their selection, they decided to add another player from USC.
Day 3
Minnesota currently has three picks for the third and final day of the 2023 NFL Draft. They include a selection in the fourth round (119th overall), one in the fifth round (158th overall), and another in the sixth round (211th overall).
Update No. 1:
- Thanks to their trade with the 49ers on Friday, the Vikings now have a total of five picks on the third and final day of the 2023 draft. Minnesota will head into Day 3 of this year's draft with selections in the fourth round (119th overall), the fifth round (158th and 164th overall), the sixth round (211th overall), and the seventh round (222nd overall).
Update No. 2
- The Vikings started Saturday with a trade. Minnesota moved back in the fourth round and acquired a 2024 fifth-round selection after agreeing to a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
- With their new spot in the fourth round, the Vikings decided to use the pick on former LSU cornerback Jay Ward.
Update No. 3
- Before Minnesota made their second selection of Day 3, they agreed to another trade. This time, the Vikings moved up in the fifth round to pick No. 141 after sending a 2023 fifth-round selection (158th overall) and 2023 sixth-round pick (211th overall) to the Indianapolis Colts.
- After the trade with the Colts, Minnesota used their new selection on former LSU defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy.
Update No. 4
- With their final pick in the fifth round, the Vikings selected former BYU quarterback Jaren Hall. In 12 games with BYU last season, Hall completed 66 percent of his passes for 3,171 yards, 31 touchdowns, and six interceptions while also rushing for 350 yards and three scores.
Update No. 5
- With the 222nd overall pick in the seventh round on Saturday, the Vikings ended up using their selection on former UAB running back DeWayne McBride.
