Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins shared a conveniently-timed post on Twitter on Monday updating the public on his recovery from a torn Achilles.

Negotiations between the Minnesota Vikings and Kirk Cousins about a possible new contract are reportedly expected to take place this week during the NFL Scouting Combine.

It sounds like both sides are open to reaching an agreement, but if a deal is unable to be worked out, the quarterback is already taking the steps (literally) to make sure other potential suitors around the league know he's healing well from his torn Achilles.

On Monday, Cousins shared a pair of video clips on his Twitter account showcasing his ability to drop back almost four months after he suffered his injury.

While the Scouting Combine is a time for teams to get a closer look at some of the prospects that will be available in this year's NFL Draft, it's also a time for teams to negotiate potential contracts with the agents representing players who are already in the league.

With Cousins' post on Monday, he's clearly planting the seeds for other potential suitors by giving them a timely update on his recovery progress.

The quarterback and his agent have been through the free agency process before, so this isn't their first rodeo. Don't even think for a second that Cousins' post on Monday wasn't shared without the intention of wanting other teams to see how he's healing from his torn Achilles.

At the same time, who can blame him?

If Cousins doesn't end up signing a new contract with Minnesota this year, he doesn't want to be scrambling around to find a new team. More than likely, the quarterback's agent will be speaking with more teams than just the Vikings this week about what sort of deal they might be able to offer his client.

Monday's post from Cousins is just the beginning of a week that is probably about to be packed full of news and rumors related to the quarterback's future with Minnesota.
