Vikings position battle No. 2

Backup quarterback: Nick Mullens vs. Jaren Hall

There was no real question as to who the starting quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings would be for the 2023 NFL season, but there was a question if rookie Jaren Hall could be impressive enough to beat out Nick Mullens for the backup job.

So far, Hall hasn't been able to show enough to make it a real competition, but he will have one more opportunity on Saturday night during the team's third preseason game to showcase his skills and make it a closer race.

Hall made good decisions and throws at BYU, posting an eye-popping 52 touchdowns to only 11 interceptions in the NCAA while piling up 6,174 passing yards to go with 800 rush yards and nine rushing touchdowns.

Rumors have been circling that Minnesota could add another quarterback to the mix, but it would still be a bit shocking to see Jaren Hall or a new face to the team beat out Nick Mullens for the backup job behind Kirk Cousins.
