After the drastic change in the Minnesota Vikings' front office with the hiring of Nolan Teasley as general manager, there is an overwhelming consensus that this was a home run hire for the franchise.

Teasley was a longtime member of the Seattle Seahawks' front office, going from being a scout in 2014 to being assistant general manager over the last three seasons. Former Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman knows Teasley well from their time in Seattle, and during a recent episode of his podcast, he shared his excitement about Minnesota's move.

“I love it. He’s a guy who works incredibly hard, a guy who cares about the players. He cares about his job. He cares about the organizations.

...A lot of people get the elevator, and then you get to the top, and you don’t know how to operate. But when you take the stairs, you know how to build and operate.

...I think he’s going to do a fantastic job for the Minnesota Vikings.”

Sherman might have been drafted three years before Teasley was hired as a scout, but he knows how the organization has performed over the last decade.

The Seahawks have been frequent visitors to the playoffs, having missed the postseason only four times since 2014, appearing in two Super Bowls and winning one last season.

Teasley has a great reputation for being a bright mind who can identify the right talent for the team. That is proven by the Seahawks' roster over the last decade, which helped them stay competitive.

When speaking to the media at his introductory press conference, Teasley brought a different vibe to the front office than was there with former general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.

Teasley's answers were clear and concise, with a direct focus on roster rebuilding while acknowledging that the team's current players can stay competitive.

The biggest part of Teasley's tenure with the Vikings will be how he handles the quarterback position, with Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy currently battling for the starting job.

What happens this season will have a big impact on how the team approaches the quarterback position, but Teasley will most likely look at adding his own quarterback next offseason unless Murray or McCarthy have a strong season.

Teasley is already leaving his mark on the franchise, though, as he recently hired multiple new members of the front office. He will have people he trusts around him before the 2026 season begins.

There is plenty of work Teasley is going to have to handle over the next year, but he might be limited in what he can do currently, since the Vikings decided to wait to hire a new general manager until after the draft.

But give him time to construct the roster as he helped do when he was with the Seahawks, and that will get the Vikings on the right path.
