For the majority of Day 1 of the NFL's legal tampering period, the Minnesota Vikings were relatively quiet.
They did see some of their own free agents sign elsewhere, most notably quarterback Sam Darnold. The Vikings are now turning to the J.J. McCarthy era after Darnold signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
There wasn't a whole lot to talk about for most of the day, otherwise.
But, the big move did end up coming Monday night.
Pro Bowl cornerback Byron Murphy is officially back. The Vikings are re-signing their star defensive back, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.

The deal is for three years and $66 million.
One might be able to argue that the Vikings made notable moves earlier in the day by signing center Ryan Kelly, formerly of the Indianapolis Colts.
But, the Murphy news takes the cake.
Prior to the official start of legal tampering, the Vikings also brought back running back Aaron Jones in one of their other key moves to start the week.
Murphy, meanwhile, is coming off a career year which saw him come up with six interceptions, 14 pass breakups, 81 total tackles and 19 tackles for loss. All of those were career bests for the first-year Pro Bowler.
In Brian Flores' defense, Murphy truly excelled. He gave up a career-low opposing passer rating of just 76.7.
Minnesota still has some work to do in terms of adding pieces to their offensive line (notably, guard) and potentially adding to their defensive line with a star name like Jonathan Allen, who reportedly met with the Vikings already.
It is still early on in free agency, and deals cannot even become official until March 12. So, for fans panicking about a lack of splash moves, the Murphy deal comes as much-needed. There is time left -- plenty.
We'll see what Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has up his sleeve going forward.
