Less than a week after Christian Darrisaw suffered a season-ending injury, the Minnesota Vikings have reportedly traded for his replacement, acquiring offensive tackle Cam Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Vikings are sending a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick (that can become fourth) to Jacksonville in exchange for Robinson and a conditional 2026 seventh-rounder (that can go away based on playing time).
The Vikings were in the market for a left tackle after Darrisaw tore his ACL and MCL during last Thursday's loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. One of the cornerstones of the team, Darrisaw agreed to a four-year, extension worth up to $113 million last summer and was making a bid for his first Pro Bowl appearance, allowing 10 pressures in the first seven games and ranking 16th among offensive tackles with a 79.9 pass-blocking grade, per Pro Football Focus.
While there's no way to replace Darrisaw through the trade market, the Vikings will attempt to do so with Robinson. The 34th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft has spent all nine seasons with the Jaguars and is in the final year of a $54 million contract.
Cam Robinson can provide adequate cover for Vikings at left tackle
Robinson ranks 33rd among all offensive tackles this season with a 69.4 overall PFF grade, and with 15 pressures, his pass-blocking performance has been in the same neighborhood as Darrisaw.

Robinson will likely slide into Darrisaw's spot on the offensive line, but there are other questions to be answered before Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Dalton Risner is ready to return after missing the first seven games of the season with a back injury, and with Ed Ingram struggling, he could slide to right guard or fit back into his natural position on the left side, with Blake Brandel taking Ingram's spot.
Whatever the Vikings' plans are, it's clear that the front office has given this team a vote of confidence. After trading for T.J. Hockenson in 2022 and Joshua Dobbs in 2023, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has shown he is not gun-shy about making a trade at the deadline, and it could help the Vikings compete in a wide-open NFC playoff picture.
