What do we make of this? Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reports that the Buffalo Bills “hope to sign” free agent FB Jerome Felton. Rex Ryan’s rebuild in Buffalo apparently includes a turn to the old-school ground-and-pound attack that won zero championships for Rex in New York.

That’s great for Rex I guess, but what does this news about Felton say for the Vikings’ plans regarding Adrian Peterson?
I ask because it’s been thought that if the Vikings did mean to bring back Peterson, they would also bring back Felton. Jerome himself said he would return to the Vikings if Peterson returned.
But now it looks like Felton is lining up a new gig in Buffalo, which is not believed to be a potential destination for Peterson, unless Buffalo means to create a bazillion-dollar two-headed running back monster of Adrian Peterson and LeSean McCoy.
It could mean nothing that Felton appears ready to go elsewhere. Or it could mean that Felton knows there’s no way Peterson is coming back to Minnesota.
I don’t know how much Adrian consults with Jerome about his situation. It could be Jerome is not in the loop at all. Or it could be that AD has already contacted Jerome and told him to just go someplace else because he’s not coming back to Minnesota.
This is all wild and irresponsible speculation. But fun. All we know for sure is that Jerome Felton is probably going to be lead-blocking for LeSean McCoy next year. And the Bills are probably going to finish 8-8 while leading the league in rushing and defense with Matt Cassel throwing more INTs than TDs.
Rex Ryan has a plan, people.
