Conspiracy theories immediately started circulating about the meaning of the “failed physical.” Were the Vikings trying to save themselves a dead money hit? Were they trying to torpedo Jennings’ free agent value? Was it part of some insurance scam?
DID THE TINY ALIEN THAT LIVES IN RICK SPIELMAN’S HAIR TELL HIM TO DO IT???
First off guys, if it were so easy to save a dead money hit, don’t you think every team would always pull the same stunt when cutting a player? And don’t you think the NFL would quickly close that loophole?
Also, the tiny alien that resides in Rick Spielman’s hair? I know that guy and he doesn’t care one lick about football. He lives on Acqua Di Parma, that’s all.

Any time a team cuts a guy after he undergoes a minor procedure, they list him as “failed physical” on the transaction. Why? Courtesy to other teams.
I realize it’s more fun to make a big deal out of minor procedural formalities, but let’s just assume going forward that the simplest explanation is the right one. Let’s not be Twitter cranks. Let’s leave that to Packer fans (they’re better at it anyway).
