This is a sight a lot of Vikings fans never thought they’d see. Adrian Peterson arriving for OTAs.
Peterson announced Tuesday morning via multiple media outlets his intention to report for the Vikings’ second week of offseason activities. It has since been reported that the Vikings intend to re-work Peterson’s contract to lock in some guaranteed money.
Now all that contract talk and hold out talk and acrimonious back-and-forth can at last be put aside and the real work of preparing for the 2015 season can begin.

Peterson should have no problems being embraced by his teammates now that he’s back in the fold. Vikings players and coaches have been vocal in expressing their desire to have Peterson back on the field.
Mike Zimmer may have lain a little tough love on Peterson last week with his “he can play for us or play for no one” remark but it’s believed that Zimmer and Peterson still have a good relationship.
Of course there are still lingering issues including the Kevin Warren situation. But with Peterson reportedly getting at least some of the guaranteed money he was seeking, the Warren thing should not be that big a deal.
Money has a funny way of making animosity vanish.
Of course not all fans will be thrilled to have Peterson back. There are some who are never going to forget what happened last year and the way Peterson has played things over recent months.
Peterson lost a lot of fans forever. But he still has plenty of backers in the Vikings fanbase. Returning to the team now helps him hold on to the fans he still has while making it right with his teammates and coaches.
