Fans who want their story told about the Minnesota Vikings now have an opportunity to share them in an upcoming unofficial documentary titled ‘Wide Left’.

Being a fan of the Minnesota Vikings isn’t easy. There has been a lot of heartbreak since the land of 10,000 lakes received a professional football team and there will likely be more on the horizon to continue the tradition.

However, some of the stories fans have about the team, its successes and failures, as well as experiences shared with other fans are being sought after for an unofficial documentary on the hardships faced over the years.

According to their Facebook page, ‘Wide Left’ will compile the best of these stories to be used in a movie for YouTube. The movie which will be released sometime in 2017 will incorporate the stories along with game footage and news clips to try to tell the story of what the game is like through the eyes of a fan.

More from The Viking Age

Of course, the phrase ‘wide left’ in itself should already give fans of the Minnesota Vikings a fit, as it will drum up memories from not only one but to collapses the team had while seemingly having solid playoff hopes.

Those moments along with some of the other most pressing topics have been provided to give fans an idea of what kind of stories they are looking for. For example, a story about drafting Christian Ponder would be more likely to be used than one about rooting for former practice squad running back Bradley Randle.

The deadline to submit a video to their Google Docs page is 3/5/17. Then, the movie will be put together and put up on YouTube for everyone to watch.
