Jon Gruden Will Try to Fix Josh Freeman
By Dan Zinski
Jon Gruden loves a challenge, but this time Old Grudes may have bitten off more than he can chew. According to Gil Brandt, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach – and reputed QB guru – will start working next week with one-time Pro Bowl QB Josh Freeman in hopes of resurrecting Freeman’s career.

When last we left Freeman, he was getting cut by the New York Giants after looking like total dogcrap in OTAs. Freeman’s latest wash-out led me to conclude that the one-time Vikings QB simply no longer gives a crap.
Well, I apologize to Josh Freeman. It looks like he does still give a crap after all. Brandt says Terry Shea, a former Freeman mentor who has also worked with the likes of Blaine Gabbert and Sam Bradford, will also jump aboard the Freeman Train. So that’s two QB gurus working on Josh Freeman.
If those guys can’t fix Freeman and his alleged mechanical issues, no one can.
If nothing else, Freeman’s effort may help to dispel the general impression that he is lazy and doesn’t want to work. Maybe he will score one last camp invite out of this. A couple more weeks of free lunches? Gotta get those freebies while you can.
But yeah, Freeman is done. Toast.
