Adrian Peterson Ruled Out Of Saturday’s Game vs. Arizona
By Dan Zinski
This is an announcement that didn’t need to be announced, but in case there were people holding out hope that the Vikings might sneak in Adrian Peterson for a few plays Saturday against Arizona…forget it. Peterson is officially out of the Vikings’ second preseason game.

If you had to list a reason for sitting a player out of a preseason game, the Vikings’ reason would be: common sense.
Peterson did not play a single down last Friday against Oakland, though he did still suit up. He probably will suit up again Saturday just because he likes the feeling of suiting up and coming out with the guys, but he’s not going to play.
And he shouldn’t play. At all. Until the official first snap of the season September 7 in St. Louis.
Oh, and all you Josh Robinson fans who were hoping to get your first look at the cornerback this weekend? Forget that too. Robinson is dealing with an ankle and a hamstring and he’s also out against Arizona.
Matt Cassel will be the starting QB, Teddy Bridgewater will run with the twos and a stress-free Christian Ponder will be completely satisfied to run with the threes.
