Earlier this week, I wrote about how Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week for his week 13 performance against the Carolina Panthers. I went on to state that he could be a long shot for the award since there were several other candidates that were well deserving of the award.

Turns out I was very wrong. Teddy Bridgewater brought home the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award for week 13 as voted on by football fans on NFL.com‘s website. He defeated other fantastic rookies who also had great performances, including Tre Mason, Donte Moncrief, Aaron Colvin, and Davante Adams.
Bridgewater played a nearly flawless game to defeat the Panthers 31-13. During the game, he completed 71.43% of his passes and tossed two touchdowns while earning a quarterback rating of 120.7 in the contest. On a day where the run game was struggling, Bridgewater took the game on his shoulders and proved that it wasn’t too much for him to handle.
Although he had some help from two huge punt blocks that were returned from touchdowns, the Vikings should be very proud of the performance of their rookie quarterback during week 13.
Congratulations go out to Teddy Bridgewater on winning the award and hopefully he’ll have more accolades coming soon in his future.
