The 6-4, 303-lb Rose showed some versatility while at East Carolina, playing both nose tackle and defensive end during his time with the Pirates.
Rose played in 48 games in four years for ECU, racking up 72 total tackles in his junior and senior seasons. He received All-Conference USA honorable mention honors in 2013 when he also notched 2.5 sacks.
A good all-around athlete, Rose competed in wrestling and basketball in high school as well as being a top football player in the state of Maryland. His pro day numbers:
40-yard dash: 5.05
Vertical: 25.5
Broad jump: 8-9
Bench Press; 20 reps
3-cone: 7.90
Besides football, Rose also dabbles in music as both a musician and producer.
Rose should have a decent chance to catch on as a member of the practice squad, especially if he shows the ability to play at more than one position in camp.
The Vikings will be looking at several young prospects on the defensive line for possible scout team roles, including 6th round draft pick B.J. DuBose, and veteran free agents Chingo Anunoby, Caesar Rayford and Leon Mackey.
2014 UDFA Isame Faciane is no longer in the DT mix after being flipped to guard.
