Viking fans won’t get much of a look at their favorite stars tonight as the team opens preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Hall of Fame game, but they will at least get to see some of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

Per Sal Paolantonio of ESPN, Bridgewater has met up with the team in Canton after 48 hours away and is expected to start tonight (via Pro Football Talk).
The Vikings have offered no details on exactly why Bridgewater had to be away from the team, only saying he traveled to Florida to deal with a “family matter.”
Though Bridgewater will start, it’s not expected that he or any of the Vikings’ other top players will see very much action. Running back Adrian Peterson is not expected to play at all.
Tonight’s game is unlikely to be a very impressive display of football, but after months without any NFL, fans are just happy for whatever taste they can get.
Viking fans will be giddy to see Teddy Bridgewater, Mike Wallace and the guys get out there even if it’s only for one series.
If we’ve learned anything about hardcore NFL fans, it’s that they love their football in any and every form. Even crap forms like the Hall of Fame game.
The action kicks off tonight at 7 CT from Canton.
