Sharrif Floyd on track to return for Raiders game

Sharrif Floyd is leaving no doubt that he intends to play Sunday against the Raiders.

The Vikings DT missed the last three games after having a small piece of cartilage removed from his left knee but was able to participate in practice on Wednesday and appears to be well on his way to returning.

In Floyd’s own mind he’s not just well on his way to returning. After practice, he vowed that he will be back on the field this week.

The Vikings have managed to keep things rolling in Floyd’s absence, mostly thanks to the efforts of Linval Joseph, but having Floyd back in the mix can’t be a bad thing.

More from The Viking Age

Floyd got off to a somewhat slow start this season but he was really starting to turn things on when he went out with his knee injury. The Kansas City game, the contest in which Floyd was hurt, was probably his best game of the entire season.

A healthy Sharrif Floyd paired with Linval Joseph could be a scary thing for offensive lines.

Derek Carr has been having a nice season for Oakland but he hasn’t faced the Vikings pass rush yet.
