Minnesota Vikings place Antone Exum on IR, add safeties
By Dan Zinski
The Minnesota Vikings have placed safety Antone Exum on injured reserve, elevated safety Anthony Harris to the 53-man roster and signed safety Shaun Prater.
A rash of injuries at the safety position has led the Vikings to make several roster moves.
On Tuesday the Vikings announced that they have placed Antone Exum on injured reserve and waived DE Justin Trattou, clearing two roster spots.
Those two roster spots were filled by elevating safety Anthony Harris from the practice squad and signing safety Shaun Prater.

Exum was himself promoted from backup to starter two weeks ago when Harrison Smith was ruled out with a knee injury.
Exum again started against the Seahawks and played the entire game despite suffering a broken rib early in the first quarter.
Harris was signed by the Vikings in May as an undrafted free agent and added to the practice squad after final cuts.
Prater was cut by the Vikings after training camp and spent a brief time with the Indianapolis Colts before becoming a free agent.
Trattou made the 53-man roster out of training camp but suffered a foot injury in week 2 and never made it back to the field.
The Vikings filled their practice squad vacancy by signing back Terrance Plummer.
No official announcement has yet been made but it has been reported that safety Harrison Smith, defensive tackle Linval Joseph and linebacker Anthony Barr have all been ruled out for Thursday’s game.
The scramble to add safety depth would seem to confirm the report that Smith will not be available.
Safety Robert Blanton missed practice on Tuesday with an injured knee and safety Andrew Sendejo was limited in practice, also with an injured knee.
