Minnesota Vikings injury update: C Joe Berger and OT Jeremiah Sirles
By Adam Carlson
Center Joe Berger and offensive tackle Jeremiah Sirles left the Minnesota Vikings week 12 game with injuries, but the team is hopeful they can return soon.
If there is one thing the Minnesota Vikings don’t need going forward, it is more injuries on the offensive line. With the unit already depleted of depth following an unfortunate string of players get hurt, two more players have their status up in the air for next week.
During the week 12 Thanksgiving day game between the Vikings and Lions, center Joe Berger and offensive tackle Jeremiah Sirles left the game with injuries and were unable to return to the game.
According to the Pioneer Press, Sirles’ injury is a hip ailment. The wound forced him out of the game in the fourth quarter on Thursday, but the offensive tackle is hopeful that it won’t cause him to miss an extended period of time.
"“I’ll be fine,’’ Sirles said. “I’m hoping it’s nothing serious.’’"

Meanwhile, Joe Berger had his helmet collide with the helmet of offensive tackle T.J. Clemmings and has entered concussion protocol. Since concussions are a tricky issue in today’s NFL, it is hard to know when he will be available for Minnesota.
However, if Sirles and Berger can’t go on Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys, fans should expect to see more from rookie Willie Beavers and center Nick Easton. Easton played well when he came in for Berger, earning the praise of head coach Mike Zimmer.
"“(Easton) did well,’’ Zimmer said. “He was quick to get into where he went to. He had power, got to the second level, finished plays.’’"
Next: Vikings offense needs more explosive plays
Hopefully, both Joe Berger and T.J. Clemmings will be able to play when the Minnesota Vikings take on the Dallas Cowboys in week 13. The Vikings will need all the help they can get to defeat a team that is arguably the best in the NFL to this point.
