Vikings 2017 Draft Prospect Spotlight: Toledo RB Kareem Hunt
By Jordan Reid
Fit on the Minnesota Vikings:
Rick Spielman’s press conference Thursday afternoon left many questioning the future of long-time running back Adrian Peterson. Spielman calmly saying that Peterson, “will always be a Minnesota Viking.”
What this maybe shows is that the Vikings general manager prematurely is preparing the public for the release of the future Hall of Fame runner.
The situation isn’t expected to be addressed until the days leading up to free agency, but it seems as if the team is prepared to go their separate ways.

Assuming Peterson is released, enter Kareem Hunt.
The former All-MAC selection adds another weapon to pair with Jerick McKinnon. Although they are similar sizes, Hunt is a better runner between the tackles as he is able to take on a heavier workload than McKinnon has shown.
Hunt is not a bell-cow rusher, but he is running back that can handle 20 carries a game without suffering a significant drop off. Drafting Hunt allows the Vikings to take full advantage of McKinnon’s skill set all over the field, while also still being able to have Hunt in the backfield.
