Some may not be happy about who the Minnesota Vikings’ starting quarterback is this year, but Teddy Bridgewater is not coming back anytime soon.
Since arriving at training camp this year, the best decision the Minnesota Vikings made so far was placing quarterback Teddy Bridgewater on the physically unable to perform list. Thus ending any chance of their being a quarterback battle with Sam Bradford during camp and avoiding all the drama that comes along with an event like that.
Now Bradford can focus on leading the Vikings back into the postseason this year and Bridgewater can continue his recovery process in a semi-peaceful manner. Distractions related to their current quarterback situation is the last thing Minnesota would have wanted to deal with heading into the season.

Whether a Vikings fan claims to be “Team Teddy” or “Team Bradford”, none of that matters right now. The focus needs to be placed on who is under center for the team at this moment and rooting for him to succeed.
I am not afraid to admit that I have not exactly been Bradford’s number one fan since he was acquired by the Vikings. I thought the team gave up too much to get a guy who likely would not be given as many opportunities in his career as he has if he were not a former number one draft pick.

But at the same time, I still want Bradford to do well in Minnesota this year. If he has a great year and leads the Vikings to the playoffs I will be ecstatic (hold the laughter). I will gladly be the first person in line to tell all the Bradford apologists that I was wrong.
Rooting for Bridgewater to recover faster and be ready to play by midseason is great and all, but would that really be best for Minnesota? Fans clamoring for another quarterback by the middle of the year is normally never because the offense is lighting up the record books.
Bridgewater will come back one day, but for now Bradford is the Vikings’ quarterback.
Next: Will Sam Bradford be better or worse in 2017?
If he does well this year, then he will probably be in Minnesota for a few more seasons. If not, then the Vikings will have Mr. Bridgewater ready and willing to take his job back by 2018.
