Linval Joseph the latest to get an extension from the Minnesota Vikings
By Adam Patrick
For the third time in the last month, the Minnesota Vikings have extended the contract of one on their top defenders.
First it was Everson Griffen. Then it was Xavier Rhodes.
Now defensive tackle Linval Joseph is the latest member of the Minnesota Vikings to receive a contract extension from the team. First reported by the Star Tribune’s Andrew Krammer on Saturday, Joseph will now continue to be a force for the Vikings’ defense for at least a few more years
The terms of the defensive tackle’s extension will keep him in Minnesota until 2023.

Joseph became a part of the Vikings’ during the 2014 offseason when he signed as a free-agent. Before coming to Minnesota, the defensive tackle spent his first four seasons in the NFL as a member of the New York Giants.
Last year was by far the best of Joseph’s seven seasons in the league. The Vikings’ defensive tackle finished with 77 total tackles, four sacks, and three forced fumbles in 16 games.

Against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15 last year, Joseph ended the day with an astounding 13 tackles.
His game against the Colts and his overall performance in 2016 earned him his first career appearance in the Pro Bowl last season. An honor of which he was very deserving.
By extending yet another member of their defense, Minnesota is making a commitment to ensuring that their defensive unit remains among one of the NFL’s best for not only 2017, but for the foreseeable future as well.
