Which players from the Minnesota Vikings or New Orleans Saints will be on the field for their week 1 game and who will be sitting out trying to get healthy?
It’s finally here. The Minnesota Vikings are getting ready for their regular season opener on September 11, 2017 against the New Orleans Saints which will be a prime time showdown on Monday Night Football.
Sadly, not everyone will be able to play in this game. As Vikings fans are well aware of, NFL players sometimes will need to sit out games due to injury, illness, or legal issues while those issues get resolved.
The final injury reports have been released by Minnesota and New Orleans showing whose status is in question for the game as shared on the Vikings official website:
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Out
- Danny Isadora, guard – knee
Doubtful
- -none-
Questionable
- Tramaine Brock, cornerback – groin
The recently acquired Brock still needed a little time to heal when the Vikings traded for him, so it’s no surprise that he shows up on the list. Also, Isadora is a backup lineman who will hopefully recover quickly from his knee ailment.

New Orleans Saints
Out
- Trey Hendrickson, defensive end – illness
- Terron Armstead, offensive tackle – shoulder
- Nate Stupar, linebacker – hamstring
Doubtful
- -none-
Questionable
- Stephone Anthony, linebacker – ankle
Compared to the Vikings, the Saints have some serious injuries. Armstead is the team’s starting left tackle when healthy, and Everson Griffen should be excited about taking on his backup, rookie Ryan Ramczyk. Also, there are some backups in Hendrickson and Stupar who will need to sit out while Anthony is also in question.
Next: Who to watch vs Saints in week 1
So far, this injury report looks good for the Minnesota Vikings. Having no starters listed as either out, doubtful, or questionable in week 1 against the New Orleans Saints is a huge positive headed into their Monday Night Football matchup!
