Minnesota Vikings ‘Minneapolis Miracle’ wins NFL Best Play of the Year

Minnesota Vikings Case Keenum and Stefon Diggs took home Bridgestone Performance Play of the Year at the NFL Honors ceremony for the ‘Minneapolis Miracle’.

The 2017 NFL season gave fans a massive number of amazing plays and memorable moments that provided fans of the Minnesota Vikings and the NFL in general with unforgettable emotions and experiences.

One of the biggest moments of the year came when Case Keenum connected with Stefon Diggs on a miraculous last-second touchdown to defeat the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Vikings announcer Paul Allen dubbed this play as the ‘Minneapolis Miracle’, but the play was given another name at the NFL Honors award ceremony on February 3, 2018: Best Play of the Year.

Keegan-Michael Key from Key and Peele was the host for the event, but even he couldn’t contain his excitement when talking about this play in front of the crowd in Minnesota.

Key went on to honor the ‘Minneapolis Miracle’ with a few more nicknames, including ‘Stefon Sensation’, ‘The Ace of Case’, and ‘The most frustrating thing Drew Brees has ever seen in his career’.

The play got even more praise, with Key discussing the acrobatic, pressure, and the sheer thrill of the moment that was awarded with the Bridgestone Performance Play of the Year with an excellent short clip showing player and fan reactions to the amazing moment.

NFL Honors aired the day before the Super Bowl on Saturday, February 3, 3017 and featured several other big announcements including the league MVP, Rookie of the Year, and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees.
