Safety Anthony Harris and running back Mack Brown are exclusive right free agents and are reported to be tendered to return to the Minnesota Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings front office is hard at work at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in their efforts to assemble the best possible team for their franchise heading into the 2018 NFL season.

The Twin Cities Pioneer Press is reporting that the Vikings are expected to retain two exclusive rights free agents: safety Anthony Harris and running back Mack Brown by having them sign contracts within the next week.

Anthony Harris played in all 16 regular season games for Minnesota during the 2017 season and started three of those due to injuries and a suspension to Andrew Sendejo where he notched 11 tackles, 1 pass defense, and 1 forced fumble.

The tender for Harris is reported to be worth $705,000 for one season and will likely be signed next week. It was expected that the Vikings would be bringing him back to the mix after his performance on both defense and special teams.

Meanwhile, retaining Mack Brown was a bit more of a surprise. After being claimed off waivers by Minnesota last year, the running back found action in one game for the Vikings against the Carolina Panthers where he returned a kickoff for 17 yards.

Mack is also reported to be getting a one-year tender worth $630,000. This is likely a move to ensure some depth at the position since the Vikings are likely to move on from Jerick McKinnon and would like to see more from the 26-year-old Florida Gators product.

It is also being reported that Minnesota will not be offering a tender to long snapper Jeff Overbaugh since the team expects Kevin McDermott to be ready for the 2018 NFL season.

Congratulations to Anthony Harris and Mack Brown on being offered tenders by the Minnesota Vikings to return to the team for 2018. Also, best of luck to long snapper Jeff Overbaugh in his future endeavors.
