It appears that Minnesota Vikings cornerback Holton Hill may also been present when Minnesota police conducted a search warrant at Roc Thomas’ residence in January.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Minnesota Vikings running back Roc Thomas is currently facing criminal charges for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. After obtaining a search warrant, Minnesota police found 143.28 grams of marijuana in Thomas’ apartment back on January 16.

Also, mentioned in the report was that the running back was in his residence with another man when police first entered. Well, according to the official criminal complaint filed by the state of Minnesota, that other man appears to be current Vikings cornerback Holton Hill.

Hill’s full name is not stated in the complaint, but his initials (H.J.H.) and his birthdate are included (March 28, 1997).

For someone who reportedly failed his drug test at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine and was suspended during his time at the University of Texas for also reportedly failing multiple drug tests, this is they type of situation Minnesota was hoping to avoid with the young corner.

Just to be clear though, Hill has not been charged with any crimes and no statements have been released by the Vikings regarding his involvement. All that is known currently is that he was present during the search of Thomas’ apartment that was being conducted due to complaints of a strong odor of marijuana coming from the running back’s residence.

Hill was signed as an undrafted free-agent by Minnesota last year and his talent level was regarded as being worthy of a selection in the first three rounds of the draft. During his rookie season with the Vikings, he appeared in all 16 games and finished with 36 tackles, seven pass breakups, and one interception.

As a rookie, Hill showed a ton of promise and his performance might have part of the reason for why Minnesota was recently looking into trading cornerback Trae Waynes.

What does the future hold for him in a Vikings uniform? Hopefully for Hill, he really was just present during the search and he did not do anything that could jeopardize his professional football career.
