Vikings Training Camp 2019: Previewing the wide receivers
By Chris Schad
The Dark Horse: Jordan Taylor
During his four-year career, Jordan Taylor’s biggest moment in the NFL came when Peyton Manning bought him a suit prior to Super Bowl 50. Since then, the 27-year old hasn’t made much of an impact catching 29 passes for 351 yards and two touchdowns as a member of the post-Manning Denver Broncos.
Coming off a January 2018 surgery on both hips, Taylor has re-emerged to sign a flier deal with the Minnesota Vikings and early on, the reviews have been positive. The Rice product has already been making frequent appearances in three-receiver sets and has earned praise from Cousins, who called him “a diamond in the rough.”
Nobody is expecting Taylor to rise to Thielen and Diggs levels of production, but it already seems like he has a better feel in the Vikings offense than Treadwell has in three years. If Taylor can stay healthy, he could be one of the sneaky risers in camp and might have enough to beat out the rest of the field to obtain the third receiver spot.
