LaDainian Tomlinson – RB (2010)

We’ve mentioned in the past how LaDainian Tomlinson almost signed with the Vikings. But it’s still crazy to think about the fact that Minnesota almost had an offensive backfield that featured Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson with Brett Favre lining up under center in 2010.

Tomlinson became a free agent in 2010 after the San Diego Chargers released him. Unsurprisingly, he drew a lot of interest from around the NFL, but his decision came down to the Vikings and New York Jets.

The Hall of Fame running back recently shared that Minnesota had actually offered him more money, but it was a gift for his pregnant wife from the Jets that caused him to ultimately sign with New York.

Tomlinson’s choice to go to the Jets proved to be a smart one as he helped them reach the AFC Championship in 2010 while the Vikings experienced an all-time disaster of a season that saw them finish with a 6-10 record.
