Currently, the Minnesota Vikings are conducting an extensive search for the next great general manager who can lead the franchise to capture its first-ever Super Bowl win.

Well, that's at least what the Vikings' higher-ups and owners want everyone to think.

Not everyone, however, is falling for the charade that Minnesota has been putting on since the end of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Vikings executive vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski has been the team's interim general manager since Minnesota made the decision to fire Kwesi Adofo-Mensah back in January.

Brzezinski, who has worked for the franchise since 1999, is among the candidates for the Vikings' general manager opening. Some believe he will ultimately be who the team chooses to fill the vacancy, including SKOR North's Judd Zulgad, who shared his thoughts on the search during a recent episode of the "Purple Daily " podcast.

"Doing your due diligence is smart, and if somebody blows you away, that's awesome.

But as this thing starts to unfold now and we get details about how it's going timetable-wise, don't you guys feel as if Brzezinski is just head and shoulders the favorite?

...It just feels to me like one of these eight candidates would have to blow them out of the water for Rob not to get the job.”

Is the Minnesota Vikings GM opening Rob Brzezinski's to lose?

Zulgad certainly isn't alone in his thinking. While some would like to see Minnesota add someone new to the front office, others would be surprised if, at the end of this "extensive" search, Brzezinski isn't the one who ends up permanently taking over as the Vikings' next general manager.

The longtime Minnesota front office member is well-liked by just about every member of the franchise, including the coaching staff and the team owners.

From the outside, it has also seemed like Brzezinski has worked well with Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell to make roster adjustments in free agency and the NFL Draft this offseason.

As Zulgad said, one of the several external candidates would likely have to completely blow Minnesota away in their interview for the team to consider hiring them instead of Brzezinski.

It's possible, but for now, it still feels like it's only a matter of time until the Vikings officially announce that Brzezinski is who the team has selected to replace Adofo-Mensah as Minnesota's newest general manager.
