Multiple Vikings starters injured in Week 12 game vs. Bears
By Adam Patrick
During the first quarter of their Week 12 matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings saw both linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. and left tackle Cam Robinson exit the contest due to injury.
Pace left the field after hurting his hamstring during a tackle attempt, and Robinson went to the locker room in the middle of the opening quarter to undergo further tests on a foot injury.
Following their exits, the Vikings turned to Kamu Grugier-Hill to fill Pace's spot on the defense, and they inserted David Quessenberry at left tackle in place of Robinson.
Injuries to multiple starters in Week 12 vs. the Chicago Bears could have big impact on rest of 2024 season for Minnesota Vikings
Yes, Minnesota lost left tackle Christian Darrisaw for the rest of the season to a knee injury earlier this year. But, overall, the Vikings haven't had to deal with a significant amount of serious injuries so far this season.
If Robinson and Pace have to miss any time in the future, however, it could have a major impact on how successful Minnesota is able to be during the rest of the 2024 campaign.
With Pace, the Vikings have already shown they can survive without him this season when they went 2-0 in the pair of games that he missed in Week 3 and Week 4. But if Robinson has to miss some time, that could turn into a big problem for Minnesota.
The Vikings would likely roll with Quessenberry at left tackle if Robinson is unable to play, but Minnesota originally traded for the former Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle earlier this year because they didn't want to make Quessenberry their starter.
But now, the Vikings might have no other choice.
