Following the loss of Christian Darrisaw for the rest of the season, the Minnesota Vikings went out and made a trade to acquire veteran left tackle Cam Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this week.
With Robinson only being a part of the Vikings for a few days, some have been wondering if he will suit up for the team on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Well, thanks to ESPN's Adam Schefter, we might have an answer.
According to Schefter on Sunday, Robinson is expected to play for Minnesota in the team's Week 9 "Sunday Night Football" matchup against the Colts. Schefter didn't mention if Robinson will start for the Vikings this weekend or not, but at the very least, it seems like he's going to be active for the primetime contest.
New Minnesota Vikings LT Cam Robinson very familiar with Indianapolis Colts
With Robinson spending more than seven seasons with Jacksonville before landing with Minnesota this past Tuesday, he knows exactly what to expect from Indianapolis on Sunday, as the Colts and Jaguars are both members of the AFC South division.
Since 2022, Robinson has faced Indianapolis four times, and in those four games, he only allowed a total of three pressures and one sack in 137 pass-blocking snaps, according to PFF. So if he starts on Sunday, the Vikings should be able to feel confident with him out on the field based on some of his recent success against the Colts.
After taking on Indianapolis this week, Robinson's familiarity with Minnesota's opponents will continue in each of the team's next two games, as the Vikings are set to face Jacksonville in Week 10 and the Tennessee Titans in Week 11.
Did this part of the schedule come into play when Minnesota made the decision to trade for Robinson? Who knows? But it certainly shouldn't hurt the Vikings' chances to come up with wins during the next few weeks.
