Following a report on Monday revealed that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison is currently facing two misdemeanor charges after his DUI arrest in July, another report later in the day shared that the team had recently brought in a trio of free-agent pass-catchers for a workout.

According to KPRC-TV's Aaron Wilson, the Vikings had free-agent wide receivers Deon Cain, Justin Hall, and Dax Milne visit the TCO Performance Center on Monday for a workout. Cain and Hall both played in the most recent UFL season, and Milne was recently released by the Washington Commanders.

Most would assume these three players were likely brought in because Minnesota just wants to see if any of them can help improve the current depth of its wide receiver group. But might there be another reason for the Vikings working out free-agent receivers on Monday?

Are the Minnesota Vikings looking to trade Jordan Addison before the start of the 2024 season?

Addison is currently facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with blood-alcohol content over the legal limit of .08 percent. These details were released on Monday, and it made his arrest in July even more disappointing as it took place just a few days after Minnesota rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson was tragically killed in a car crash.

This isn't Addison's first run-in with the law during his tenure with the Vikings, either. Minnesota's young wide receiver was cited last summer for speeding and reckless driving after police caught him driving 140 mph in a 55 mph zone.

After the speeding incident, Addison claimed that something like that would never happen again. But then he got arrested in July for something that could have turned out incredibly worse.

At what point do the Vikings say enough is enough and choose to move on from Addison? Is Minnesota going to wait and see if he makes another dumb decision, or are they going to send him and the rest of the locker room a major message by parting with the young receiver before the start of the 2024 season?

The Vikings need to do something to let all of their players know that what Addison did will not be tolerated. Minnesota's leadership has claimed that they want to help Addison be the best possible version of himself. But can that be achieved in a Vikings uniform, or does the team need to release or trade him in order for him to realize the severity of his arrest last month?

Perhaps Minnesota has already made that decision, and that is why they brought in three free-agent wide receivers for a workout on Monday.
