The Minnesota Vikings are preparing for the 2026 NFL season and wrapping up some of the important tasks that need to be completed before the team takes the field in their season opener against the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The biggest task for the Vikings this offseason has been finding a general manager. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was relieved of his duties upon the conclusion of last season, and Rob Brzezinski was named the interim GM until after the 2026 NFL Draft.
When the draft concluded, the purple and gold started their search for the team's next general manager. Although Brzezinski was one of the candidates for the position, they opted to go with Seattle Seahawks assistant GM Nolan Teasley.
The role that Rob Brzezinski will play with the Minnesota Vikings going forward has been revealed.
Now that Nolan Teasley is reported to be the new general manager of the Minnesota Vikings, the question of what the plans are for Rob Brzezinski, since he is no longer needed in the interim role, and was not chosen to be hired.
On Saturday, NFL on CBS insider Jonathan Jones shared on X that Brzezinski will stay with Minnesota following the GM hire.

Having a salary cap wizard like Rob Brzezinski in the front office with a strong talent evaluator like Nolan Teasley could do wonders for Minnesota, especially if head coach Kevin O'Connell can get the most out of the talent provided to him.
Brzezinski returning to his role as the executive vice president of football operations for the Vikings is a win for Minnesota, but it does raise the question of how he feels about the franchise not selecting him for the general manager position.
His return to the EVP of football operations position is a good sign that there are no hard feelings between the two parties, and business should resume as normal in the front office now that those roles are filled.
Minnesota couldn't afford to lose the skills that Brzezinski brings to the team, and his experience could be valuable to Teasley, who is new to the general manager role with the Vikings and could benefit from a supportive environment.
This could be considered a win-win for the Minnesota Vikings as well as the team's fans. Hopefully, things will evolve beautifully in the front office and the franchise can continue to make more steps toward becoming a contender in the future.
