Someone thought Adrian Peterson didn’t have enough awards, so they gave him another one. Something called the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year. Isn’t that cute? Does Adrian get a little trophy that looks like a soda can? As long as he doesn’t have to actually drink any of that swill. Seriously, I think I’d rather chug cat piss…
This thing was based on fan vote. The other candidates were Kansas City receiver Dwayne Bowe, Buffalo running back Marshawn Lynch, Cleveland left tackle Joe Thomas and San Francisco linebacker Patrick Willis. But they all suck compared to Adrian so he [...]

Fan-Sided Blogs has added a Carolina Panthers site to its ever-growing family. The blog is called Cat Crave, and it’s run by a fella named John White. Everybody make sure they head over there and give John a big old Purple welcome. And ask him if there’s any chance of us prying Steve Smith away from Carolina, cause we could really use a receiver who doesn’t suck.
This seems crazy to me, but there are people out there who say Vikings WR Cris Carter is not a lock to make the Hall-of-Fame in his first year of eligibility. From Fanhouse’s Michael David Smith:
Charean Williams of the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, who is on the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, told me today that she doesn’t think Carter is going to make it. Williams wasn’t saying she’s opposed to him getting in, just that she doesn’t think his chances are good.
Williams is president of Pro Football Writers of America and has a good sense of which way her [...]
Super Bowl week press conferences are about the silliest you’ll ever see. First you have all the non-sports media types asking their idiotic questions, then you have the regular sports media types who can’t think of anything new to ask. And then you have the players who are bored of the whole thing.
This year at least we have Randy Moss to keep us entertained. Yeah, that’s how bad this stuff is – we have to look to Randy to give us things to blog about.
Randy did manage to deliver one noteworthy nugget for Vikings fans this week: [...]
The Super Bowl Should Be Today
If the world made any sense, we would all be getting ready to watch the Super Bowl today. Right now I would be at Wal-Mart buying chips and salsa and bottles of soda, and chuckling at all the sad-looking people in their Packer gear (teehee). I would be full of anticipation for the late afternoon kick-off. The epic showdown between the undefeated New England Patriots and the Cinderella Story New York Giants. Brady vs. The Other Manning. Michael Strahan’s last shot at glory. Randy Moss’s first shot in the big game. Commercials, commercials, [...]

What are the greatest quarterbacking performances in the history of the Super Bowl? ESPN has set out to answer that. In fact, they have gone so far as to rank every QB performance in every Super Bowl, from 1 to 82.
And number 1? Joe Montana in Super Bowl XXIV, a 55-10 Niners romp over Denver. Montana was 22-29 in that game with 297 yards and 5 TDs – that’s getting it done. Number 2 was another Niner, Steve Young, who broke Montana’s TD record by notching 6 in San Fran’s 49-26 dismantling of the Chargers [...]
