All Adrian Peterson wanted out of the Vikings was some guaranteed money.

All the Vikings wanted was for Adrian Peterson to show up for offseason activities so team and player could put all the unpleasantness behind them and get down to the business of preparing for the season.

It appears both sides will get what they want.

On Tuesday, Adrian Peterson let the media know that he will be reporting for Vikings OTAs, ending what turned out to be a not-very-protracted hold out.

Now Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Vikings will relent and give Peterson some guaranteed money.

How much guaranteed money Peterson will get and what form these guarantees will take is anyone’s guess. On Monday, Peter King suggested the Vikings should offer to fully guarantee Peterson’s 2016 salary of $14.7 million.

Peterson will make $12.75 million in base salary for 2015. He gave up a $250,000 work out bonus by missing the first week of OTAs but one assumes the Vikings would pay him that as part of the new deal.

In his statement to the media on Tuesday, Peterson deferred to his agent regarding the contract issue (via ESPN):

"“I’ll leave those discussions to my agent, but any player wants to guarantee his future as much as possible,” Peterson said. “I’m focused on what I need to do on the field, what I need to do to prepare for the season.”"

Peterson last week ranted on Twitter about the lack of guaranteed contracts in the NFL. Now that he’s being paid his guaranteed money, will he continue standing up for the rights of players, or is that not a thing anymore?
