The Minnesota Vikings were worried that left guard Brandon Fusco wouldn’t be able to start Sunday’s game vs. San Diego after going through the league’s concussion protocol.
But Fusco obviously passed all the tests he needed to pass because the guard is active for today’s game and will start.
Concerns about Fusco were first raised on Wednesday when he missed practice with a reported concussion after playing the entire game against Detroit.
When did Fusco suffer the concussion and why wasn’t he removed from the game under the league’s new policy using spotters?

Fusco was apparently injured on the final play of the third quarter but the spotter evidently missed it.
And now the NFLPA is reportedly investigating how/why the spotter missed Fusco’s concussion signs.
From the Vikings’ point-of-view, all that matters is that Fusco is out of the woods concussion-wise and can play.
Also active for the Vikings this week is lineman Jeremiah Sirles, the guy who would have started if Fusco had been unable to go.
The Vikings’ inactives list includes newly-returned CB Jabari Price, WR Stefon Diggs, C Zac Kerin, QB Taylor Heinicke, DE Danielle Hunter, LB Edmond Robinson and TE Chase Ford.
