Minnesota Vikings roster: Jabari Price to IR, Terrance Plummer
By Dan Zinski
The Minnesota Vikings announced several roster moves on Tuesday but not the one some of us were expecting/dreading.
Here is the full run down of the moves that did happen:
CB Jabari Price was placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
LB Brandon Watts was signed off the practice squad.
FB Blake Renaud was signed to the practice squad.
LB Terrance Plummer was signed to the practice squad.Minnesota Vikings roster: Jabari Price to IR, Brandon Watts
WR Donte Foster was cut from the practice squad.
Absent from that run-down is Sharrif Floyd, who hopefully will be able to continue avoiding a trip to IR after having a small piece of cartilage removed from his left knee.
Jabari Price heads to IR with a reported shoulder injury after spending the last few weeks inactive. Price began the season serving a suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
A 2014 7th round draft pick, Watts joins the 53-man roster after spending the first seven weeks on the practice squad.
Fullback Blake Renaud serves his second stint on the Vikings practice squad. The former linebacker was signed by Minnesota in 2015 as an undrafted free agent.
22-year-old Terrance Plummer joins the Vikings practice squad after being cut by the Washington Redskins, the team that signed him as a UDFA earlier this year.
Plummer had a nice preseason for the Redskins as a middle linebacker but failed to make the active roster, instead earning a spot on Washington’s practice squad.
Plummer was promoted to Washington’s 53-man roster on Sept. 19 but was cut after missing a block that led to a blocked punt and safety.
WR Donte Foster has had several stints on the Vikings’ practice squad after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2014.
For now the Vikings seem content to wait-and-see on cornerback Josh Robinson who remains on PUP, able to practice but not yet activated to the 53-man roster.
The move to place Price on IR suggests that the Vikings are moving closer to bringing Robinson back to the roster.
