The NFL reviewed Rams CB Lamarcus Joyner’s hit on Teddy Bridgewater and decided that it warranted a fine but not a suspension.
According to media reports, Joyner is $23,152 lighter in the pocket as a result of his shot on Bridgewater in last weekend’s game.
Joyner hit Bridgewater in the head while the Vikings QB was in the process of giving himself up by sliding at the end of a run.
Bridgewater was forced to leave the game as a result of the hit and has spent the week going through the NFL’s concussion protocol.
After Sunday’s game, Joyner denied deliberately hitting Bridgewater in the head.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer strongly expressed his dismay over that hit and other plays by the Rams defense that he deemed dirty.
During the game Zimmer complained loudly to officials. After the game he called out Rams DC Gregg Williams, making reference to Williams’ past history.
Rams coach Jeff Fisher fired back at Zimmer, saying the Vikings coach needs to control his emotions.
Fans and media people have been debating the dirtiness of Joyner’s hit all week long. Seems the NFL has ended the debate.
As of Thursday, Bridgewater had still not been completely cleared under the concussion protocol but he has been able to practice and looks like he should be able to play this weekend in Oakland.
