Vikings Draft: CB Trae Waynes Has Visit Lined Up With Minnesota (Maybe)

The pre-draft process must be a bewildering whirlwind-like experience for prospects, so you can forgive a young man like Trae Waynes if he isn’t always sure where he’s supposed to be going next.

Waynes knows he has a pro day coming up and he also knows he has some visits in the offing. He thinks he knows which teams he’s visiting but…well, that’s what agents are for (Via USA Today):

"I don’t think I’m going to run anything at my pro day on March 18. I’m definitely going to be there talking to teams, but I’m going to talk with my agent to see what I have to do. … More than likely, I’ll probably end up doing just drills. I’ve got a few visits to teams lined up already, too. I think it’s Jacksonville and Minnesota right now."

How do we report this one? Trae Waynes has a visit lined up with Minnesota…possibly. Perhaps someone could confirm this with his agent?

It makes sense that Waynes would be a target for the Vikings given their need for a bigger outside corner to line up opposite Xavier Rhodes. Waynes went into the combine looking to answer questions about his strength and fluidity and it’s generally agreed that he did so.

Waynes’ 4.31 40 time also showed that he has great wheels. The Vikings could very well have a shot at Waynes with the #11 overall pick and right now it seems there is genuine interest. But we can’t be sure until someone finds out where exactly Waynes is headed on his visits.
