Vikings linebackers coach Adam Zimmer was among those present at Thursday’s Washington pro day where LB/S Shaq Thompson was arguably the main attraction.

Reports say Thompson worked out at both linebacker and defensive back, which is interesting given his statements at the combine, when he said he was being looked at exclusively as a linebacker.
Walter Football gave a quick run down of Thompson’s performance:
"Shaq Thompson weighed in at 228 pounds then completed 28 reps on the bench. He did both linebacker and defensive back drills and looked very athletic in both. Thompson had dinner with Mike Nolan of the San Diego Chargers last night and is scheduled to eat with the Carolina Panthers this evening. He presently has nine visits on his schedule."
At least we know Thompson isn’t starving.
We also know the Vikings are among the teams showing the strongest interest in Thompson so far. From Twitter, this brief clip of Thompson and Huskies teammate John Timu being put through some drills (Thompson is the guy in the Superman tank top).
If you’re curious about Timu, he’s an ILB who looks like a late-rounder (via Ourlads.com):
"Led the Huskies in tackles in 2012 and 2014. Timu gets by with initial quickness and the ability to read the action in front of him. His instincts and on-field IQ are exactly what teams look for out of inside linebackers. While he may be limited physically, he will prove to be a solid special teamer and capable backup caliber player."
DT Danny Shelton and CB Marcus Peters also put their skills on display yesterday. Both players have been mentioned in connection with the Vikings. But Thompson still seems to be the focus of the Vikings’ interest if you’re talking about Huskies defensive players.
The latest dispatches from mock draft land have Thompson landing in the early second.
