I don’t know if today’s release of the list of players expected to attend the draft in Chicago starting April 30 is news or not but, it’s here anyway.

- Predicting what the Vikings will do in the 2023 NFL Draft based on 2022
- 3 positions the Vikings could double-dip at in the 2023 NFL Draft
- Vikings mentioned as a possibility for another 2023 QB prospect
- Vikings could be ‘perfect’ for Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker
- 4 positions the Vikings won’t be adding to in the 2023 NFL Draft
Among the major talking points already being lifted from the list of 26 is the complete absence of quarterbacks. With Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston both electing not to show, the single most important position on the field will not be represented in the green room.
Among the 26 planning to attend, Nebraska DE Randy Gregory has the best chance to experience a dramatic tumble. If teams truly care about his failed drug test at the combine. If they don’t care, then there won’t be a tumble (so there goes that storyline).
Who will the Vikings’ pick be when they draft at 11 (if they don’t trade down)? Nobody knows. But several potential targets will be present in the building to put on the Vikings hat should their name be called.
That list of possible Vikings draftees includes Louisville WR DeVante Parker, Clemson LB Vic Beasley, LSU OT La’el Collins, Alabama S Landon Collins, Florida LB Dante Fowler, UConn CB Byron Jones, Mississippi State LB Benardrick McKinney, Washington DT Danny Shelton and yes, Michigan State CB Trae Waynes.
Oh, and Iowa OT Brandon Scherff will be there too. For those who are on the Scherff bandwagon.
Any of the men listed above could conceivably end up being taken by the Vikings (at 11 or later). It’s a wide-open kind of year.
